how do i get my marshall mg dfx 30 to get a good hard rock metal sound?
i want settings for the knobs im looking for the tones of slash angus young and randy rhoads, and if your feeling generous E.van halen. my amp has all the basic settings an f/x. i want the settings. dnt bother sending me links. by the way 20points for the best answer
Both Angus Young and Slash (at least in VR) play their rhythms with high Treb and Mid (around 8-10) with dropped bass (around 6) and just a touch of reverb. You should use the distortion channel and lower gain (around 3 or 4) for Angus and higher (7) for Slash. On your amp you should also have a switch called FDD. This makes your amp sound more like a valve amp so switch it on for a more realistic sound! Btw i have a mg100dfx and don't listen to the twat above, they are awesome!!!!
