 Hello all, I've got a problem with my 92 F-350, DRW -? It's got the 460 cid - on the left bank, theres a tube that goes to the left side of the plenum, and "threads" to a modual, the dang thing has coused me so much greaf, cant find it in the junk yard, and cant get it from the parts store, but the dealer to the rescue??? NOPE! They want to rape me $250.00 for this tube, untill I told them that I have a EIN number, then they dropped it to $125.00 ~ I am wanting to just plug it off on the bottom, and sip tye the tube out of the way down there, as upstate NY don't test emissions on a '92 - but was woundering about proformance issues - I use this truck to haul a heavy 5th wheel step deck trailer - http://www.tonyz.us/images/picture%20005.jpg http://www.tonyz.us/images/100_1875.jpg http://www.tonyz.us/images/100_1875-3.jpg I also was woundering, what is involved in switching the motor out to a deisel, and is there a desiel that will come close to the 460 for this year I dont know what to tell you on the first problem....you might just need to bite the bullet. If you want to switch from a 460 to a diesel, then a turbocharged 7.3 would be a good choice. Yeah, you have the 6.0 and I had one, but I was not impressed with it. You will have to switch the computer and lots of other stuff, like changing the way the truck breaths. You will like the diesel more because they have more power and better MPG than a gas motor. They can go longer between oil changes too. |
